Smart Security for a 650 m² Detached Home

We installed smart security systems in a 650 m² detached home on a 1,800 m² plot, protecting both the interior and the perimeter. The challenge was clear: new cabling could not be installed for outdoor detectors and cameras. Our solution combined existing wired equipment with new wireless devices, suitable WiFi coverage and additional deterrents.

Our approach

Protection starts outside the home.

Making use of equipment that still worked well.

We retained the existing wired detectors inside the home because they were in good working condition. We integrated them into the new smart hybrid alarm, which combines wired and wireless devices, building the upgrade around useful existing equipment.

Outdoor and perimeter protection without new detector cabling.

Wireless alarm detectors were installed outdoors and around the perimeter. This extended protection beyond the interior of the home to detect unwanted presence in the monitored zones.

Reliable WiFi was part of the design.

We assessed and extended the home’s wireless network to provide the reliable coverage required at the outdoor camera locations. This infrastructure supports the cameras’ WiFi connections. The wireless detectors belong to the alarm system.

Cameras that distinguish people and vehicles.

The smart outdoor cameras use AI technology to distinguish people and vehicles in the image. They also provide colour night-time images, helping the owners observe the grounds after sunset.

Deterrence through sound and light.

The cameras’ built-in speakers play audible deterrent messages when a potential intrusion is detected in the monitored area. We also installed floodlights with built-in motion sensors, adding illumination and another deterrent.

Custom supports for the installation.

We designed and manufactured suitable brackets and poles for the cameras and floodlights. The supports were tailored to the selected locations as part of the overall installation.

Control from a mobile phone.

Both the alarm and camera systems are fully controlled through their respective mobile apps. The owners can operate the systems and view the camera feeds, with convenient access to their home’s security.
