Private cinema in an attic

An attic with a sloping ceiling and multiple levels found a new purpose: a private home cinema for films, music and time to unwind. We designed the home theater around the room’s distinctive geometry, bringing picture, sound and lighting together as one.

Designed around the space.

The attic’s geometry shaped every decision. Through 3D visualisations, the owner could see the finished space before construction began and help refine the final design.

Sound insulation was designed with the bedrooms below and the neighbouring home in mind, balancing the enjoyment of film with the peace of the surrounding spaces.

Two ways to watch. One complete experience.

A 65-inch Smart TV is paired with an HD projector and a motorised 120-inch projection screen. A custom bracket adapts the projector to the sloping ceiling, while 7.1 surround sound completes the cinema experience.

Compact surround speakers were chosen to suit the room. The equipment sits in a custom-built wooden rack, with concealed cabling and easy access for maintenance and upgrades.

Lighting that sets the mood.

Both main and decorative lighting use LEDs. Linear lighting highlights the ceiling, while preset lighting scenes can be selected by remote control to suit the way the room is being used.

We took care of the interior design and construction, alongside the design, installation and programming of the electrical, electronic and audiovisual systems.
