Architectural Lighting at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation

At the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, we designed and implemented the architectural lighting of the façades. The brief called for a dramatic lighting effect, with one uncompromising condition: the newly built structure had to retain its architectural integrity.

Our approach

Dramatic light. Architecture preserved.

No visual alterations and no physical interventions to the façades. With new cabling ruled out, we designed and manufactured bespoke RGBW LED luminaires tailored to the project.

PC software controls the luminaires wirelessly. Programmed scenes run automatically, without human intervention, giving the façades different levels of intensity and colour.

Our proposals were presented as 3D visualisations and approved personally by Mr Cacoyannis during his lifetime. His wish for a dramatic lighting effect shaped both the design and its final implementation.

Project scope: Lighting design, bespoke luminaire design and manufacture, installation and scene programming.

From concept to completion.
