Giorgos Lazongas — Artwork Lighting at Eleonas Station

At Eleonas metro station in Athens, the artworks of painter Giorgos Lazongas are on permanent display. We designed their lighting to bring them to life with the appropriate hue of light, in keeping with the artist’s vision.

Our approach

Light serves the art. The architecture is preserved.

A key requirement was to preserve the station’s interior architecture. To achieve this, we built custom smart LED luminaires with wireless control, tailored to the artworks and their setting.

The lighting hue was chosen with the artistic intent in mind, revealing the works as the painter had envisioned them.

We carried out the lighting design, luminaire construction, installation and system programming, bringing the art into focus while respecting the architecture of the station.
